Harradines Removals and Storage are committed to providing a quality service in a manner that ensures a safe, friendly and healthy workplace for our employees and minimises our potential impact on the environment. We operate in compliance with all relevant environmental legislation and we strive to reduce pollution and implement environmental best practices in all we do.
All our vehicles are equipped with the latest technology, exceeding the Low Emission Zone requirements, and are more efficient than petrol derived LPG vehicles. Our driving methods employed ensure minimum emissions are produced by keeping under 55mph and using the latest satellite navigation technology.
We appreciate the need to deal with our wastes as environmentally efficiently as possible and therefore we dispose of all engine oil according to strict environmental regulations. We recycle all card packaging and packing paper used on jobs and ensure that office waste is kept to a minimum, through re-use and recycling.
We promote efficient use of materials and resources throughout our facility including water, electricity, raw materials and other resources, particularly those that are non-renewable; we even use reclaimed furniture to avoid unnecessary depletion of natural resources.
To ensure that our staff are able to cycle to work we provide a secure lock up bicycle space. This has been so successful that currently 95% of staff cycle or walk to work. As we enjoy and value cycling so much we have participated in the Princes Trust Sponsored Cycle this summer, raising money and awareness amongst our staff, clients and customers, of their valuable work to help young lives. We also contribute regularly to their worthy cause.
As a company we appreciate the importance of educating our staff about environmental concerns and reasons for instigating such policies, so that they can, in turn, consider their implementation within their own lives. We also believe in constantly working to reduce our environmental impact and have a set of targets that we plan to implement over the next 6 months, when we will review our environmental policy, in order to improve our service to customers and contribute towards creating a healthier environment for ours, and their, children.
